On this pageIntroduction

The ICE Institute platform enables lecturers from partner institutions to develop, submit, and deliver online courses within the ICE Institute learning ecosystem. Through the platform, a lecturer structures course material, creates assessments, submits the completed course for review, and manages the course once learners are enrolled.

This document is intended for lecturers appointed by a partner institution to develop and deliver a course. It documents the complete lecturer workflow, beginning with account registration and lecturer access approval, and continuing through course development, submission and curation, publication, and course delivery.

Course development on the platform involves three parties. The lecturer produces and manages the course content. The partner administrator approves lecturer access, creates and assigns courses, and conducts the first review of a submitted course. ICE Institute then performs the final curation and publishes the approved course.

The workflow proceeds in five stages: content development by the lecturer, institutional review by the partner administrator, curation by ICE Institute, publication by ICE Institute, and course delivery by the lecturer. A submitted course therefore passes through two separate approval stages before publication, and several stages depend on approval by another party. These stages are identified throughout this document so that lecturers can determine at any point whether an action is required of them. The complete workflow, including approval points and expected processing times, is presented in the Course Development Workflow section.

Courses are created by the partner administrator and subsequently assigned to the lecturer responsible for them. Lecturers do not create courses on the platform; they develop content within a course already assigned to them.

This document does not cover functions reserved for partner administrators, including lecturer access approval, course creation and assignment. Lecturers requiring any of these functions are advised to contact the administrator at their institution.
