“This award is a proud milestone not only for ICE Institute, but also for Indonesia’s higher education ecosystem. It demonstrates that our collaborative efforts to integrate micro-credentials at the national level are gaining global recognition. We remain committed to supporting students, educators, and institutions in acquiring world-class digital and AI competencies.”
This year, the Pioneer Case Award carried the theme “IIOE Ecosystem-Driven Promising Practices: Empowering Workforce, Innovation, and Collaboration.” The selected cases represent leading initiatives from the Global South that focus on empowering educators, innovating curricula, and strengthening digital infrastructure in higher education.
These initiatives serve not only as practical models for global higher education stakeholders, but also as valuable references that can be adapted more broadly to create higher-quality and more equitable higher education systems worldwide.
This achievement further strengthens Indonesia’s position in leading digital learning innovation while supporting UNESCO-ICHEI’s global initiative to promote digital empowerment, innovation, and collaboration in higher education. It also demonstrates Indonesia’s readiness to become a major player in global digital education transformation.
The award also aligns with Indonesia’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
- SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting flexible digital learning that supports work-life balance and well-being;
- SDG 4: Quality Education, through expanding inclusive and equitable access to digital education;
- SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by strengthening the national digital education innovation ecosystem;
- SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, through adaptive and accountable higher education governance;
- and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through multi-stakeholder collaboration among universities, government institutions, and global partners.
This accomplishment reaffirms ICE Institute’s role as one of the driving forces behind Indonesia’s digital education transformation toward a more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable global learning ecosystem.
