About This Course
Calculus is one of the greatest achievements of human thought, explaining everything from relative theory to the optimal profits. This course covers the applications of core ideas of single variable Calculus and historical motivation for calculus. The course is ideal for students beginning in the engineering, computer science, business administration and so on.

Xu Dinghua
Professor of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU). He was awarded with Ph.D. degree in Computational Mathematics at Shanghai University, China in 2001 by a thesis on Integral Equation Methods for Inverse Problems and Boundary Value Problems in Mathematical Physics. He was a full professor since 2002. He was awarded the National Distinguished Teacher of China in 2004, the National Excellent Teaching Achievement Prize in 2014 from the Ministry of Education, China. He was engaged in the establishment of the School of Mathematics and Informational Sciences (SMIS), East China Institute of Technology in 2003. He is also engaged in the education of industrial and applied mathematics for undergraduates, graduates and Ph.D. Program in Mathematics. He has been the director of SMIS during 2003-2006, Dean of Academic Affairs Office and Dean of Graduate School at ZSTU during 2006-2016, deputy dean of the School of Mathematics at SHUFE since 2016. He has served three member of Universities Teaching Steering Committee in Mathematics, Ministry of Education, China during 2006-2010, 2013-2017 and 2018-2022. His current research interest covers computable modeling, inverse problems for parabolic equations, data modelling for textile material design and for multiscale modeling in catalyst preparation process, numerical computation for partial differential equations. He has presided over three general projects of the national fund of China in the past ten years, undertaken one cultivation project of national fund major research plan, and published three monographs. The research results have been published in important journals such as Inverse Problems and Annals of Mathematics China and served as editorial board member of international journal Applicable Analysis. He is the person in charge of "Mathematics and Applied Mathematics" of the national first-class specialty. The teaching achievements of digital course construction and top talent training mode won two second prizes of 2014 national teaching achievements. He has made several special reports in China University Mathematics Report Forum, and published a series of education research papers in Chinese Higher Education, Chinese University Teaching, Higher Engineering Education and so on.
Xu Yanqing
Dr. Xu has been engaged in the teaching and research work of English courses for international students for many years. He did the teaching reform project "Research on the teaching reform of cultural education courses for international students ". As the deputy editor in chief, he compiled the textbook "mathematics and scientific progress". In June 2020, he was hornerd as "My favorate teacher" by international students of Zhejiang University of Technology.
Congming Jin
Dr. Congming Jin， Associate professor at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University. She was awarded her Ph.D degree in Computational Mathematics at Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. And she was awarded her B.Sc. degree in Computational Mathematics at Shandong University in 2001. She has been engaged in teaching Calculus in English for about eight years. She also has taught the class of Numerical Analysis in English for 6 years.

Chen Qiqiong (Jade)
Graduated from Nanjing University of Science and Technology with a PhD degree on Control Sciences and Engineering. She visited the Department of Mathematics at Shawnee State University (USA) as a visiting scholar during the period of Jan 2015 and April 2016. As a mathematics major, she is interested in studying applications of mathematics and striving for that.
