About This Course

This course serves Chinese college students of railway and non-railway programs, international students, employees of foreign railway enterprises and overseas railway enterprises. It enables students at home and abroad to understand the development of China's rail transportation, and lays a foundation for the smooth transition to the follow-up specialized courses.  It also provides a medium for employees of foreign railway enterprises and overseas railway enterprises to understand the development of China's rail transportation.  

The course includes ten modules, including rail transportation, stations, rail ticketing management, train operation control system, rail vehicle classification, passenger and freight services, power supply system and rail safety management, rail culture and new development.  Based on historical and international perspectives, this course tells the all-round development of China's rail transportation. It adopts bilingual teaching with Chinese and English subtitles, and adopts independent learning mode combining MOOCs, micro courses, online open courses and offline public elective courses.  

Through learning the course, students' language skills are cultivated to support and improve their vocational abilities, so are their vocational ethics. Students can greatly improve their competence to tell China's stories and convey China's voice to the world in English.  

We are a team of nine instructors with different academic titles. In order to develop international (online) courses, propel "going global" and relyon college–enterprise collaboration,  We invite experts from rail transportation industry and enterprises, higher vocational education curriculum experts, senior experts, foreign teachers, and frontline teachers to form the team, so as to guarantee the online course development and formulation of the related teaching resources.

Course Staff

Associate Professor  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  She teaches college English listening, speaking, reading and writing, intercultural communication, business English and other courses.  She was a visiting scholar  in Troy University. 

Professor  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  She mainly teaches English for  intercultural communication and other courses. She is the expert of the Flagship Program of China-asean Double Hundred Vocational Schools cooperation.

Associate Professor  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  She mainly teaches courses such as English for High-speed Railway Passenger Service and Oral English for Cross-cultural Communication.  She participated in the technical service work of Mombasa-Nairobi Railway.

Associate Professor  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  He has been  teaching courses such as "Introduction to Railway", "Introduction to High-speed Railway" and "Computer Network" . He won the second prize of National Teaching Achievement.

Associate Professor  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  She teaches "PLC Programming and Application". She guided students  in the Skills Competition of Vocational colleges  and won the first prize of the group and the Award of Excellent Instructor in Hubei Province.  

Associate Professor  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.   He has been  teaching courses such as "Introduction to Railway" and "Introduction to High-speed Railway".

Senior technician  at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  He teaches railway locomotives and vehicles.  He worked as electric locomotive crew in Wuchang South Locomotive Depot.  

Senior engineer and Director of Maintenance Workshop of Wuchang South Engine Depot of Wuhan Railway Bureau Group Corporation. He has been working as professional engineer, processing engineer and chief in the section technical department.

Teacher at Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology.  Responsible for the teaching and management of foreign teachers and the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language for international students.
