About This Course
This course is open to all graduate students in medicine. It aims to guide graduate students to understand the basic theory on pathogen infection and immunity, expand students' research ideas, stimulate research vitality, and carry out more meaningful and innovative scientific research.

Cong Hua, Professor,ph.D
Cong Hua, phD, professor of the Department of Pathogenic Biology, School of Basic Medicine of Qilu Medical College, Shandong University, master supervisor. Member of the branch of tropical and parasitic diseases of the Chinese Medical Association, director member of Shandong Microbiology Society. In 2009 and 2017, she worked as a postdoctoral and a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago. She has been engaged in the research of pathogenic infection and immune mechanism, especially the pathogenic mechanism and vaccine of Toxoplasma gondii. She has undertaken a number of scientific research projects such as national natural Fund and provincial fund, published more than 50 scientific research papers, and obtained 4 invention patents. Undertook a number of teaching reform projects in Shandong University. Participated in the construction of national quality course of《Human parasitology》, online MOOC courses for international students, and hosted the construction of international course of 《Infection and Immunity》. Participated in the compilation of many textbooks and books, such as 《Infection and Immunity》,《Medical Parasitology》 and 《A Brief History of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases》.
Lifen Gao got her doctor's degree in immunology from Wuhan University in 2001. She worked as a post-doc at Shandong University (2001-2003) and the University of Texas SAN Antonio medical center (2008-2009). She is now a professor of Immunology at Cheeloo College of medicine, Shandong University. Her research interests are focused on macrophages and immune regulation involved in tumor and metabolism-related diseases. Some work has been published in J Immunol, Front Immunol, Br J Cancer, Cell Mol Immunol, etc. She has presided 6 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. She is also the reviewer for Liver international, Frontiers in Oncology and other journals. She is the committee of Shandong Immunology Society, vice director of Basic professional Committee.
Yundong Sun got her doctor's degree in animal science from Wuhan University in 2006. He worked as a post-doc at Shandong University (2006-2008) and the University of Michigan medical center (2008-2009). He is now a professor of microbiology at Cheeloo College of medicine, Shandong University. His research interests are focused on drug resistance mechanism of Helicobacter pylor. Some work has been published in Gastroenterology,Antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy,Helicobacter, etc.
Li Wenjuan, MD, associate professor, doctoral supervisor, Deputy director of Department of Pathogenic Biology, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Shandong University. Young member of Microbiology and Immunology Branch of Chinese Medical Association, member of bacteriology Group of Microbiology and Immunology Special Committee of Chinese Society of Microbiology. Member of the editorial board of the assistant textbooks for Clinical Medicine published by People's Medical Publishing House, member of the editorial board of the textbook "Medical Microbiology" published by China Medical Science and Technology Publishing House, associate editor of National Medical Education Question Bank "Medical Microbiology". Her main research field is "Infection-Inflammation-Tumor". In recent years, she has been in charge of 4 projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China and 5 provincial and ministerial projects. Research papers have been published in international academic journals such as Clin Cancer Res, Mol Cancer, Cancer Letters, etc. She is the reviewer of several SCI academic journals.
Bing Han, graduated from Southwest University with a PhD degree in Microbiology in June 2017. Dr. Han joined the laboratory of Dr. Louis Weiss in the pathology department of Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) as joint PhD student from September 2014 to September 2016. Bing Han returned to Albert Einstein College of Medicine in August 2017 as postdoctor research fellow and got a visiting assistant professor position of AECOM in 2020. In March of 2020, Dr. Han joined the Shandong University School of Basic Medical Sciences as a Professor, supervisor of master and PhD student, and was awarded as "Cheeloo Young Scholars". Bing Han was also awarded by “Young Elite Scientist Sponsorship Program” by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology. Bing Han's group is interested in the mechanism of Microsporidia and Toxoplasma gondii invasion, mainly focus on the interaction of Microsporidia and Toxoplasma gondii with their host cells during the infection. In the past few years, Bing Han has published several papers in some authoritative international journals, including PLOS Pathogens、mBio、Frontiers in Microbiology、Expert opinion on therapeutic targets. He is also the reviewer for Archives of Microbiology and other journals.
Li Yan, PhD in biology of Shandong University, postdoctoral fellow of Harvard University. A lecturer of Shandong University, in-depth research on the mechanism of intestinal flora and metabolic diseases as well as the mechanism of pathogen resistance in chronic and recurrent infectious diseases.
