About this Course

The course Appreciation of 20th Century Chinese Zheng is based on this evidence and showcases Chinese zheng genres that have arisen since the 20th century: Shandong zheng music, Henan zheng music, Shaanxi zheng music, Chaozhou zheng music, Guangdong Hakka zheng music and Zhejiang zheng music.

Course Staff 

Li Liangzi is a zheng performer with a Bachelors's and Masters's degree in Music from the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) in Beijing. She studied zheng under Professor Li Meng and has taught at South-Central Minzu University (SCUN) in Wuhan since graduating. Later in 2020, she participated in the visiting scholar program at James Madison University (JMU) in the United States.
