Requirements
The course "History of Chinese Art" is a compulsory basic course for undergraduate students in the field of art. It is a discipline that studies the historical process and laws of the occurrence and development of Chinese art. This course mainly teaches art history or comprehensive art history based on specific categories in various historical periods of China, with the mainstream art of each era as the main theme, while also taking into account important artistic works, artists, art events, art institutions and other elements of each period, in order to cultivate students' artistic history literacy. This course will narrate the history of Chinese art based on Chinese academic principles and spiritual care, in accordance with China's historical context, cultural ideas, and artistic vocabulary. This course focuses on the commonalities and connections among various art genres in the common context of historical background, social conditions, aesthetic consciousness, fashion trends, etc. It summarizes the occurrence, development, categories, characteristics, and ideological patterns of art in historical evolution, and strives to outline the basic face of Chinese art history for students.
