About this course

The transportation industry is an important part of the national economy and plays a vital role in the efficiency of entire social development.

This transportation engineering is an international online course launched by Chang’an University.

The purpose of this course is to cultivate the basic theories and professional knowledge of transportation.

Transportation Engineering course covering a variety of topics, including highway transport, roadway geometric design, urban transport, freight transport system, railway transport system, maritime transport system and aviation transportation system.

The course is designed to satisfy students continuing education needs.

The course conducted an effective 15- lecture. Three lectures on a comprehensive overview, definitions, concepts, characteristics of highway transportation, and using the concept of vehicle flow and capacity of service.Three lectures devoted to present the urban transportation system in China including urban road system, public transport and urban rail system.

Then four lectures about freight transportation and multimodal transport system.

Three lectures present railway system. Finally, One lecture for aviation system and one for maritime transport.

During the learning period, students will be able to understand the transportation capabilities, organization and management of various transportation modes,

This course is conducted by Professor Xu Ting, Ma Zhuanglin, Wang Laijun, Chen Wenqiang, Zhang Rui and Zhao Jiao.The teaching group within Transportation Engineering course has rich experience and achievements in the field of transportation.

	Xu Ting Chang’an University Professor Professor Xu's main research areas are traffic safety and intelligent transportation. Currently serving as a member of the WTC Traffic Safety and Environment Academic Committee, and a review expert for journals such as Journal of Transportation Engineering and IEEE Access. More than 40 academic papers have been published in domestic and foreign academic journals, and more than 20 papers have been indexed by SCI/SSCI/EI. Presided over more than 20 projects including: National Natural Science Foundation Youth Project, National Natural Science Foundation General Project, National Key Research and Development Program Sub-projects, Western Transportation Construction Technology Project, Xi'an Science and Technology Department Project, Fujian Science and Technology Department Project, Ningbo Transportation Bureau Technology projects, etc. Published more than 10 utility model patents and invention patents.
	Hu Hui Chang’an University Professor Professor Hu Hui’s research directions are logistics system planning and optimization, emergency material scheduling and supply chain management. At present, she is a member of China Logistics Society and a member of WTC "passenger transport planning and connecting transportation" Technical Committee. In the past five years, she has presided over and completed the national science and technology support program, general projects of Shaanxi Natural Science basic research program, and major social science projects in Xi'an, and published more than 20 high-level academic papers, including 4 SCI papers and 10 EI papers. The first prize of the National College Students' logistics design competition, the first prize of Shaanxi Province "Challenge Cup" instructor. The national first-class professional backbone of Chang'an University participated in the formulation of one industry standard of the Ministry of transport, and participated in the compilation of three books.
	Yan Ying Chang’an University Professor Professor Yan ying's research areas are road traffic safety and identification， detection of driving behaviour.
	Zhang Rui Chang’an University lecturer Lecturer in the Transportation Department of the School of Transportation Engineering, Chang'an University, has published many core articles.
	Zhao Jiao Chang’an University lecturer Lecturer at the School of Transportation Engineering, Chang'an University, graduated from Northeastern University with a major in system engineering. He has participated in many National Natural Science Foundation of China projects and published many articles. At present, the main research direction is logistics optimization scheduling and intelligent optimization algorithms.
	Ma Zhuanglin Chang’an University Professor The main research areas are traffic planning, traffic safety, and travel behavior. He has presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Shanxi Provincial Natural Science Basic Research Project, and the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Science Research Project. He has participated in the National Social Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Science Research Project, and the Ministry of Transport Applied Basic Research Project. . Published more than 30 academic papers, including 10 SCI/SSCI indexed papers.
	Chen Wenqiang Chang’an University Associate professor The main research areas are economic organization and comprehensive transportation; urban and rural transportation integration; urban public transportation planning. Committed to improving the efficiency of the transportation chain from the governance level of the intermediate economic organization, and realizing "the smooth flow of things and the smooth flow of people"; research on the urban and rural public transport operation mechanism in economically underdeveloped areas, and try to solve the problem of equalization of basic urban and rural public transportation services. He has presided over the completion of 4 provincial and ministerial-level projects, 12 departmental and bureau-level projects, and 9 social service projects; participated in more than 20 various projects; published 20 core papers including EI/CSSCI/CSCD. Won the second and third prizes of Shaanxi Philosophy and Social Sciences, and one third prize of Xi'an Science and Technology Award.
	Wang Laijun Chang’an University Professor The main research areas are urban traffic system optimization and simulation, urban traffic rights allocation and management, urban distribution system design and optimization, air transportation system optimization, airport planning, and air traffic management. Member of the Educational Guidance Committee for Logistics Management and Engineering of the Ministry of Education, executive director of the China Logistics Society, member of the National Road Transport Standardization Technical Committee, executive director of the President Branch of the China Transportation Education Research Association, and executive director of the Shaanxi Industrial Engineering Society. Presided over or participated in more than 20 scientific research projects such as the National and Shanxi Natural Fund Projects, Shanxi Electronic Information Industry Revitalization and Technological Transformation Projects, and National Hub Planning Projects, participated in the writing of multiple national and local standards, and published more than 30 scientific papers . Presided over or participated in 7 national new engineering research and practice projects and other teaching research projects, published more than 10 education and teaching research papers, won 1 third prize of national defense science and technology, 2 second prizes of Shanxi Province teaching achievement, first prize 1 item, 1 first prize and 1 third prize for outstanding teaching achievements of the China Logistics Society and the National Logistics Undergraduate Professional Teaching Committee.
