About This Course

With the integration of digital media, network technology and computer technology, the digital media industry is growing rapidly all over the world. The rapid development of digital media industry benefits from the guidance and support of the continuous breakthrough of digital media technology. Digital media technology is an interdisciplinary and technical field integrating digital information processing technology, computer technology, digital communication and network technology. Digital media technology processes the information of text, sound, figure, image, video and so on by modern computing and communication means. Through the study of this course, you can understand the latest research progress and development direction of digital media technology, appreciate the charm of digital media technology, cultivate the interest and motivation of learning related technologies, and lay a good understanding foundation for the follow-up study of digital media technology professional courses and related scientific research.

This course aims to enable students to understand the relevant basic concepts, basic methods and application practices of digital media technology, understand the cutting-edge research progress and development direction of digital media technology, and lay a good understanding for the subsequent study of digital media technology professional courses and scientific research basis.

Course Staff

Ming Yan

Ming Yan received a B.S. degree in communication engineering from the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing, China in 2002, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in communication and information systems from the Communication University of China (CUC), Beijing, China in 2006 and 2012, respectively. From 2014 to 2015, he was employed as a Visiting Research Scholar with the Center for Energy-Efficient Telecommunications, The University of Melbourne, where he was involved in developing new energy models for mobile services. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Information and Communications Engineering, CUC. His research interests include future wireless systems, green technologies in wireless communication systems, mobile wireless networks, and mobile multimedia broadcast technologies.
