About This Course
As a general education courses of college English, the purpose of this course is to cultivate students' intercultural communication consciousness, help students understand the differences between Chinese and western culture, students will learn to use intercultural communication theory to analyze the cases. The goal is to build scaffolding for students to improve their social language ability and intercultural communication competence. With the globalization of economic, science and technology, more and more students go abroad for further study. How to communicate effectively in English environment requires students to have certain intercultural communication competence and basic humanistic quality. This course aims to provide language support for students' future communication, help them understand the world from different perspectives, values and ways of thinking in China and other countries, and therefore lay a foundation for their future intercultural communication.
Requirements
As an elective course in college English course, this course aims to highlight the humanistic characteristics of college English. Therefore, the teaching, application and expression of intercultural communication knowledge do not strive to be systematic and difficult. Students do not need to have any preparatory knowledge, but can participate in learning with the basic language requirement of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
