Welcome to the Indonesian Herbs as Cosmetic Ingredients course, where you will explore the diverse heritage of Indonesia’s traditional herbs and their scientifically supported benefits in modern cosmetic applications. This non-credit, fully online course introduces you to Indonesia’s remarkable biodiversity and its relevance in the field of cosmetic science. You will learn about selected herbal ingredients with proven efficacy in skincare, hair care, anti-aging, and sun protection. The course also covers the fundamentals of cosmetic formulation, bioactive compounds, and regulatory challenges in developing herbal-based personal care products.
 

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the basic principles of cosmetic formulation
2. Identify Indonesian herbs with proven potential as anti-aging agents
3. Identify herbs with natural sunscreen activity
4. Identify herbal ingredients that may be effective for hair care and treatment

5. Explain relevant regulations and challenges in applying herbal ingredients in skincare and personal care products

   Learning Hours

11. There will be a 35 minutes final examination.

12. Learning is carried out completely in an asynchronous manner according to each participant's time preference (self-paced).

    Participants will watch learning videos and, read open-ended materials accompanied by quizzes.
