Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

UPIx

"Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) is an early generation university in Indonesia that produces educators (teachers), so that its graduates have spread throughout the country. UPI was established on October 20, 1954 under the name Teacher Education College (PTPG). In 1957, it was changed to the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) and became part of Padjadjaran University (UNPAD). In 1963, its status was upgraded to an independent university with the name Institut Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (IKIP) Bandung. In 1999, IKIP Bandung was renamed as Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Since 1999, UPI's status has changed several times, starting from UPI as a State-Owned Legal Entity College (PT BHMN) in 2004, Government College with Public Service Agency Financial Management (PTP PK BLU) in 2010, and finally in 2014 it became a Legal Entity State University (PTN BH). As a fairly old university, of course, it has played a lot of roles in national development, especially in providing educators and education personnel in Indonesia."
