"Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) is one of the universities resulting from the policy of expanding the mandate (wider mandate) of the Padang Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP). UNP was officially established (dies natalis) on October 23, 1954. In the history of its development, the changes that occurred included not only the name and place of its position, but also the status and educational programs it developed, in accordance with policies to meet the demands of educational development in the country. These changes can be classified into five periods, namely the PTPG Batusangkar period, the FKIP period of Andalas University Bukittinggi in Batusangkar, the FKIP period of Andalas University Padang, the IKIP Jakarta Branch Padang period, the IKIP Padang period and the UNP period. Congratulations on the UNP period, UNP's institutional status is from a Work Unit College (Satker), a Public Service Agency College (BLU) and based on PP No. 115 of 2021 dated November 25, 2021 UNP turned into a Legal Entity College (PTNBH). The existing condition of UNP now as the 15th PTNBH in Indonesia, has 10 Faculties and Postgraduate Programs with a total of 107 Study Programs, with UNP students registered in the odd semester 2022/2023 totaling 46,017 people with 20 foreign students (14 S1 and 6 S2). Details of students are 3,882 D3 students, 37,354 S1 / D4 and Professional students, 2,348 S2 students, and 433 S3 students. UNP students have 15 international achievements and 252 national achievements in the academic field, with monumental achievements including international poster awards, national champions of energy efficient car design competitions, 1st place in international innovation, invention & design competitions. Non-academic student achievements consist of 38 international and 238 national." UNPx
