"State University of Malang (UM), formerly known as the Malang Institute of Teacher Training and Education (IKIP), is one of the largest and most well-known universities among the 13 former Educational Institutions for Educational Personnel (LPTK) in Indonesia. UM was inaugurated in 1999, namely since IKIP Malang received an expansion of the mandate to become a university so that IKIP Malang changed to Malang State University (UM).
