Course Description
This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the concepts, roles, and functions of Performing Arts Education as an integral part of human education. Performing arts are viewed not only as a form of aesthetic expression but also as a medium for developing personality, emotional intelligence, and social awareness.
Through theoretical studies and practical experiences, students are guided to understand performing arts as:
- A fundamental need in human education (Experience in Education);
- A means of fulfilling aesthetic and creative expression;
- A vehicle for shaping attitudes and personality;
- A determining factor in the development of other intelligences.
This course emphasizes the social, cultural, and educational values embedded in the diversity of Indonesian performing arts. Students are expected to analyze, appreciate, and develop models of performing arts education that are rooted in values, culture, and creativity.
Course Objectives
After completing this course, students are expected to be able to:
- *Explain the nature and functions of performing arts education in the context of education and culture.
- *Analyze the aesthetic, social, and cultural values contained in various forms of Indonesian performing arts.
- *Develop creative, reflective, and critical thinking in designing performing arts learning.
- *Actualize performing arts as a medium of communication, self-expression, and character development.
Learning Outcomes
Students who complete this course are expected to possess:
- Knowledge (Cognitive): A deep understanding of the concepts of performing arts education and their relationship to character formation and multiple intelligences.
- Skills (Psychomotor): The ability to create, manage, and perform forms of performing arts that reflect educational and cultural values.
- Attitude (Affective): Sensitivity to social, cultural, and humanistic values through aesthetic experiences in performing arts.
