About This Course
This course is aimed to introduce about the concept of beauty foods and cosmeceuticals as the novel ingredients in recent cosmeceutical products. These novel natural ingredients for cosmeceutical application are various, such as herbal plants, marine organisms and marine-associated microogranisms, fermented foods, and animal placenta. Several scientific reports and industrial perspectives on cosmeceutical products are also included in this course as the study cases related the selected topics. At the end of course, new trends in future cosmeceuticals are also discussed, including skin microbiome, reconstructed skin, digital innovation (skin AI), and others.

- To understand the concept of beauty foods and cosmeceuticals as the new innovation in food biotechnology
- To understand the trends in herbal cosmeceuticals, marine cosmeceuticals, fermented cosmeceuticals, and placenta cosmeceuticals as part of innovation and advance technology in cosmeceutical industry
- To understand about the research and screening technique for development of novel cosmeceutical ingredients and formulation of cosmeceutical products

Yanti, Ph. D.
Dr. Yanti has education background in Biotechnology and Food Science. She is a full time lecturer at Master of Biotechnology, Faculty of Biotechnology, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. Her research works are mostly concerned on bioprospecting natural product compounds from Indonesian traditional plants as the novel ingredients for functional foods, nutraceuticals, and cosmeceuticals.
