"Universitas Terbuka (UT) has devoted itself since September 4, 1984 as a State University (PTN) by carrying out an important government mission, namely equal access to quality higher education for all levels of Indonesian society. As the first open and distance education institution (PTJJ) in Indonesia, UT consistently provides higher education services through a distance learning system to the community including Indonesians abroad. Currently UT has 43 Study Programs spread across 4 Faculties, Master Programs and Doctoral Programs. In line with its vision to become a world-quality open and distance university, in providing educational services, UT has been equipped with 39 regional offices spread across 34 provinces, and 1 unit of the Overseas Student Management Center. Until 2021, the number of UT alumni has reached 1.8 million people. While the number of students with active status reaches more than 400 thousand people."
