Registration and Account Management

How to register

In this video, we'll walk you through the simple steps to register as a student user. First, locate and click on the "Registration" button on the website's homepage. Next, you'll be directed to the registration form and fill in the needed requirements. Once you've filled out all the required fields, click on the "Create Account" button. An email verification will be sent to your provided email address. Please check your inbox and follow the instructions to verify your email.

To access your account, begin by navigating to the homepage of our website. Once there, locate and click on the "Login" button. You'll then be prompted to enter your email address and the password you created during the registration process. After that, click on the login button to grant you access to your personalized account, where you can explore all the features and resources available to you.

Exploring Account Settings

To access your profile, simply click on the dropdown arrow next to your username, and select "Profile". Here, you'll find all your essential information neatly organized. This includes your personal details, an "About Me" section, and any certificates you've earned.

Logging Out

To log out of the account, navigate to the top right corner of the homepage. Click on the dropdown arrow to reveal options, where you'll find "sign out". Click on it, and you'll be promptly logged out.

Profile and Notifications

To access your profile, simply click on the dropdown arrow next to your username, and select "Profile". Here, you'll find all your essential information neatly organized. This includes your personal details, an "About Me" section, and any certificates you've earned.

Essence of Notifications

To effortlessly manage your notifications, locate and click the notification bell icon situated within the interface. Upon clicking, a dropdown menu will promptly appear, presenting your notifications organized into three categories: All, General, and Course notifications. Should you wish to explore your notifications comprehensively, simply opt for "View all notifications" to access a fullscreen display showcasing all your notifications at once.

Academic Exploration

Apply to be a lecturer

To become a lectuer, simply locate and click on the 'Become a lecturer' button in your User Profile page. Next, select the university where you wish to lecture and proceed by clicking 'Submit.' Your request will then be sent to the chosen university for verification. Once confirmed, you'll be ready to embark on your journey as a lecturer.

Exploring Student's Homepage

Upon logging in with your registration credentials, you'll be directed to the homepage, where you'll find a menu bar at the top featuring the ICE Institute logo, categories, universities or institutions, certificates, notifications, news or info, shopping cart, and your user profile name. The homepage is rich with various sections including home page slides, university or institution slides, top categories showcasing popular topics, flash sales offering courses at discounted rates for a limited time, most popular courses indicating those with the highest enrollment with an option to explore more to access the full course catalogue, 100% free courses providing access to online resources without charge with an option to explore more to browse available courses, new courses featuring the latest offerings from partner universities with an option to explore more to discover additional options, and Explore ICE Institute highlighting available categories and the number of courses.

Exploring Universities/Institutions

Navigate through the partner universities/institutions by selecting the designated tab in the menu header. Once clicked, you'll be directed to a page showcasing a range of universities affiliated with ICE-I. Click on any university to unveil detailed information alongside the available courses listed below. Explore seamlessly through our network of educational partners to find the ideal match for your academic pursuits.

View All Courses

To access and explore courses, begin by clicking on the search icon located in the header. This action will direct you to a page showcasing all available courses. From here, you have the option to refine your search criteria according to your preferences. You can filter courses based on categories, pricing, language, and type (instructor-paced or self-paced), as well as by skill level (basic, intermediate, or advanced). Additionally, you can arrange courses alphabetically or by ratings by utilizing the sorting feature.

Navigating My Courses Dashboard

To access your courses, simply utilize the dropdown menu adjacent to your user profile and select "Dashboard" from the options provided. Within the dashboard, several sections await your exploration. "My Courses" will display your enrolled courses, offering a categorized view including "All" for a comprehensive list, "In Progress" for ongoing courses, "Completed" for finished ones, and "Archived" for those completed within the last 30 days. Additionally, you'll find sections such as "Related Courses" for additional listings, "Recommended Courses" tailored to your interests, and "Announcements" delivering pertinent updates and notifications. To streamline information, use the dropdown menus labeled "From all" and "All time" for filtering announcements as needed.

Course Management

Adding a course to cart and payment

To enroll in a course and make a payment, begin by choosing the course you wish to add. Once selected, you'll find detailed information about the course, including an option labeled "Add to Cart." Click on this button to include the course in your shopping cart. You'll then be redirected to the shopping cart page, where you can review your selections and any available promotions or discounts associated with the course. If there are any discounts applicable, you can choose the one that suits you best and proceed by clicking on "Pay Now" to complete the enrollment process. In case you decide to remove a course from your cart, simply mark the corresponding checkbox next to the course and select delete. Should you wish to add more courses, you can easily do so by clicking on the "Explore Courses" button to continue browsing and adding to your cart.

To access your purchase history, click the cart icon and select "Purchase History". This will reveal a table categorizing your purchases into pending, successful, and cancelled/expired tabs based on payment status. Successful purchases are listed under the success tab, displaying details such as invoice, creation date, payment date, price, payment status, and an option to view the receipt. Clicking "Receipt" provides a comprehensive breakdown of the purchase, including any applied promotions, directly on the web. To download the receipt, click the download button for local storage.

To delve into the subsections of a course, initiate the process by selecting the desired course and activating it with a click of the "start course" button. This action initiates the journey with the course description, providing context for what lies ahead. Moving forward prompts the appearance of a multiple-choice pre-test, serving as a checkpoint for initial comprehension. It's important to note that each course is unique, with variations in section and subsection organization, particularly in quiz pacing.

Upon completing the pre-test, submit your responses and receive immediate feedback in the form of a score displayed below the submit button. This feedback mechanism allows you to gauge your understanding and readiness for the upcoming sections. Advancing further reveals the substantive content of the course, comprising various learning materials such as slides, lecturer-provided videos, or curated content from platforms like YouTube. Engaging with these resources sets the stage for deeper learning and comprehension.

Having navigated through the preceding materials, you're then presented with a final quiz specific to that section. This quiz serves as an assessment of your comprehension and retention of the course content. Once again, upon completion, submit your answers to receive feedback and gauge your mastery of the section's objectives.

Completing the course

To determine your course completion status, select a course from your dashboard and navigate to the progress tab. Here, you'll find crucial information regarding your performance. This includes the course completion indicator, reflecting your progress through the content. You'll also see your grades, comparing your weighted grade to the required pass grade. Additionally, there's a grade summary, presenting scores for various assessment types, and detailed grades for each course section. Upon completing the course, you can claim your certificate by clicking "Claim Certificate" on the right-hand side, which directs you to the certificate claiming page.

Certificates and Ratings

In order to claim your certificate, navigate to the certificate section located after the unit content within the course. A Google slide presentation will provide instructions on the necessary steps before obtaining and downloading the certificate. Directly below the Google slide, you'll find a "Generate Certificate" button. Clicking this button will prompt the system to generate your certificate for the current course. The certificate will include your name, the course title, the institution offering the course, your course grade, and a QR code for certificate validation.

In this segment, we'll explore an alternative method to obtain your certificate. Within your "My Courses" dashboard, upon completion of a course, you'll notice a prominent "View Certificate" button. Simply click on it, and your certificate for that specific course will be promptly generated and presented to you. This streamlined process ensures easy access to your certificates directly from your course dashboard.

Viewing and Verifying Certificates

To effortlessly access and verify your certificates, begin by clicking on the "Certificates" tab located in the menu header. This action will seamlessly transfer you to the Accredible Certificate Verification page, designed for your convenience. On this page, you'll encounter various options to ensure the authenticity of your certificates. You can choose from three verification methods: Credential Link, Credential ID, or Open Badge. To proceed, simply input the reference details provided to you via email. This streamlined process ensures accurate and hassle-free certificate verification.

How to give ratings and feedback

To access ratings and feedback for completed courses, head to the my courses dashboard and select the completed tab. Look for the "View rating & feedback" button next to the desired course and click it. This will lead you to the course information page. Below, you'll find a section dedicated to leaving feedback. Simply type your comments into the provided text box on the right-hand side and select a star rating. Once you've completed your feedback, hit submit to post it.

Promotions and Support

For those seeking to stay informed about the latest promotions, navigate to the News/Info section located in the menu header. Upon selection, a variety of news and information will populate the screen. To specifically access promotions, utilize the dropdown menu and choose the "promo" option. Currently, there are no promotions available, but regularly checking this section will ensure you never miss out on an opportunity.

Show Contact Us Form

To address any inquiries or issues regarding the website or personal matters, users can find the "Contact Us" menu located at the bottom of the page. Upon selecting it, they will be directed to a form requiring essential information such as their name, email, phone number, address, and the nature of their message, whether pertaining to the website or personal matters. Upon completion, users will need to solve a captcha before clicking "send message" to submit their queries or concerns to the admin.
