"UNAND was founded on September 13, 1956 by Mohammad Hatta, is the first and best university on Andalas Island (Sumatra), and is the 4th university established by the Government of Indonesia. UNAND is a cluster 1 university, with institutional accreditation A, has international certifications and accreditations such as AUN-QA, FIBAA, ABEST21, ABET, and IABEE. UNAND organizes activities in 15 Faculties, consisting of 49 Bachelor Programs (SI), 43 Master Programs (S2), 16 Doctoral Programs (S3), 13 Specialist Programs, 2 Subspecialist Programs, 7 Professional Programs and 4 Diploma Three Programs. UNAND has 167 professors, and a total of 1501 lecturers. Active in more than 1500 researches each year, updating teaching methods and materials, performance and innovation products, and excelling in intellectual property. The determination of the Minang community as a repository of intellectuals and scholars to establish a higher education level has existed since before the time of independence. The determination was realized with the name Andalas University. That determination to this day is roaring and never extinguished in order to achieve the ideals for the glory of the nation."
